Break
Down
The smell of fire is locked in the air I breathe. Feelings of helplessness overwhelm be with tears.
“After review we have chosen another candidate…
Good luck with your future endeavors.”
Common sense tells me:
- Remain Calm
- It’s Okay
- The market is tough right now
- It’s rough for everyone
- Something will work out
Yes…
Yes…
Common sense tells my Head what my Heart can’t find it in herself to believe. Instead rejection consumes her. Causes her to languish in a feeling of desperation.
This
Feeling
Sucks.
So I cry. I sulk. I throw myself a pity party where my Heart is the guest of honor. Common sense is trying to barge in and be the life of the party. Trying to shake things up. Trying…trying so hard to get her out of this nasty funk.
Inhale
Exhale
Inhale
Exhale
Inhale
Exhale
Common sense consoles Heart. The pain begins to subside. And as cheesy as it sounds, waking up to a new day has brought Heart a new attitude. The fire in the air no longer fuels my anguish. It simply reminds me that I’m still here. Heart and common sense make up. She laughs at the pity party that was yesterday. And maps out the new hustle.
It
will
work
out.
Thanks for listening,
L
